Providing and Encouraging Professional Learning

Offering accessible, relevant, and equity-informed professional development opportunities and resources that support effective practice.

Promoting High-Quality Practice

Supporting reflective, culturally responsive, and evidence-informed approaches to teaching and learning, and building shared professional understanding.

Advancing Equity and Inclusion for Students

Promoting meaningful inclusion, accessibility, and equitable educational opportunities by identifying and working to remove systemic barriers for students with disabilities and diverse abilities.

Advocating for Systemic Support

Advocating for recognition, resources, and systemic supports from the Ministry of Education and Child Care for Learning Assistance Teachers and inclusive education.

Informing Policy and Advocacy

Contributing to and advancing policy through the BCTF and other organizations to strengthen inclusive education.

Supporting Resource Access

Promoting the development, selection, and equitable access to high-quality learning resources, tools, and supports.

Fostering Collaboration and Innovation

Serving as a hub for collaboration, where members can share ideas, engage with emerging research, and explore innovative practices in inclusive education.

Building Partnerships

Collaborating with partner organizations, federations, and communities to advance shared commitments to equity, inclusion, and student success.

Engaging with Post-Secondary Institutions

Supporting the development of inclusive and responsive teacher education programs.
